The latest device of the ServSwitch CX family has 16 ports for the direct connection of various servers or conventional KVM switching systems. Besides that, an RS232 port for the control of power switches is available. The CPUs can be easily and cheaply connected via CATx cables and low-cost, flexible server access modules. Because of their compact design, two CX Quad IP switches can be mounted side by side in a 19“ rack. 8 IP sessions and 32 server ports in only 1 rack unit are thus possible.
For the central management of user groups and access rights, the Enterprise Management Software wizard.net is included in the delivery. The solution is compatible with all ServSwitch CX IP, Wizard IP, DXS, and Uno IP devices and enables high visibility of the infrastructure. “The CX Quad IP in combination with the powerful software allows users to manage their servers easily and effectively from just about anywhere – with little requirements for on-site installation or to your computers“, Axel Bürger, Managing Director of Black Box Deutschland GmbH, explains. “Combining small size and high performance, and with a purchase price of about 150 euros per port, the switch is especially suited for small and medium server parks.“
